Winter Xtreme this year with the middle school youth was a great trip and a great time! We had 20 youth go this year. There was snow and a lot of ice. Our broom ball team made it to the championship round and lost 1-0 to the eventual champions. It was a lot of fun!

Our speaker Jonathan McKee from The Source 4 Youth was powerful as he talked about how God wants to change the way we think, how God’s love can transform us to live out love to others, and that we need to get alone with God and get real. We had times of worship and great small discussions. Life change always seems to take place in these settings. Thanks to our youth leaders: Pam Chambers, Darren Tee, Rebekah Baker, and Hans Noyes for taking a weekend to spend time with our youth — we couldn’t do it without great help!

This year was the coldest Winter Xtreme that our group has ever experienced — even colder than last year’s “Polar Vortex.” That didn’t stop our group from having a lot of outdoor fun! It also didn’t stop us from responding to the speaker’s (Bill Allison) challenge to make Jesus the center of everything we do and not just another part of our lives. Our small group discussions were really great and we encouraged each other. I still think these trips are so valuable to the spiritual growth of our youth! Thanks to everyone who helps to make these trips happen.
