On Jan. 16–18, twenty FBC Middle School youth went to WinterXtreme at Timber-lee Christian Camp for a lot of winter fun and we all got a lot more than that! We had a very spiritually based time of bonding, worshipping the Lord Jesus, and hearing from His word. This year the speaker was Jason Raitz who is a Pastor in Central Michigan. When I first met him he was on staff at Willow Creek Community Church. He spoke on Philippians 3:12 “But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.” He had us laughing and seriously considering what that truth means to us in our lives. We need to dig deeper into God’s Word, pray daily to develop our relationship with Him, and to press on during difficult times!

Winterxtreme was again one of the highlights of our year. The Polar Vortex had settled down and we didn’t freeze to death! One of the new highlights was the new zipline at Timber-lee. We were way up in the air gliding through the frigid air—it was awesome! Our broom hockey skills need to be improved. We only won a single game out of 4 games. Ouch! Oh well….. because of that, we had more time in the afternoon for the toboggan chute, tube hill, tube run and more. The worship times and small group times were definitely special. The times of worship brought us into the very presence of God in a special way. Our small group times were also a way to see that life change was happening in our lives. Wow—God is good! He is renewing us and making us into a new creation. Can hardly wait until next year!
