The people live on an island and have no way to purchase items for their families for Christmas. We will need to ship the items by early October, so we need to begin gathering them immediately. Items such as quilts, baby blankets, sweaters, afghans, hats, scarves, pot holders, mittens, dish cloths, etc. can be brought to the north hallway.

Dorcas Circle Continues Work for White Cross: The American Baptist White Cross program provides urgently-needed supplies for our mission workers that cannot be purchased with limited mission budgets. Learn more at the American Baptist White Cross website.

WOMEN'S MENTORING

Apples of GoldAPPLES OF GOLD—Mentors for Women

This six-week women's mentoring program features instruction by mature women regarding organizational skills, homemaking, and spiritual growth. Geared towards women age 20 to mid-30's.

Apples of GoldApples of Gold is a group mentoring program offered once a year by some older women in our church who have gained wisdom as they experienced life's blessings and failures.

The Mentors would like to offer encouragement, organizational skills, and ways of developing your own interests and character—to teach you how to live out the gospel with your families in a lifestyle that is pleasing and truthful to God's word. The six-week program seeks to encourage young mothers to enhance relationships and cooking skills. They learn tips on making delicious, easy, healthy meals, and helpful hints on showing hospitality to others. The evenings are also full of fun and fellowship!

Questions? Contact the church office.

More information about the program can be found at the Apples of Gold website.

AMERICAN BAPTIST WOMEN'S ORGANIZATION

American Baptist WomenABW — American Baptist Women

American Baptist Women's Ministries is an inviting organization open to the needs of women. We focus on people and ministry rather than organizational structure. Each woman may choose to participate according to her needs, interests and gifts as she is led by the Spirit of God.

WE FOCUS ON:

  • Personal Development Ministries by providing opportunities for each woman to become and develop as God's person: deepening her faith, developing her gifts and becoming a more effective Christian disciple and steward.
  • Church and Community Ministries by providing opportunities for women to build God's faith community: developing relationships and meeting the physical and spiritual needs of others in their homes and their communities.
  • Mission and Service Ministries by providing opportunities for women to serve God's world: participating in American Baptist mission outreach and meeting the physical and spiritual needs of others in our nation and in God's world.
