What a Wonderful World

There are so many bad things happening in the world. Turn on the news and you hear of some killing or something in an area where you live or have been and you can hardly believe it. Many people are calloused and cold to others. Yet there are so many great things happening too. I saw on the news last week where a Fireman heard a mom scream from a window a few stories high "catch my baby". She threw the baby and the fireman caught it. The baby stopped breathing and the fireman got it breahting again! I see people standing out in frigid weather for the Salvation Army. I see people putting money in the little red bucket. I see people giving up time and money during the Christmas season! We all need to stop and appreciate the small blessings in life during this Christmas season! I see places like the Salvation Army, Salt & Light, and Empty Tomb doing a lot for people so they and their children can have a better Christmas season. Operation Christmas child and Angel Tree bless children around the world and children of inmates! Thank God for people and organizations who give us hope and show God's love in such a great way!!!

Legacy Part 2

What a legacy that C.S. Lewis has with the release of Narnia in the movie theatres! I'm so glad that people waited this long to put out the movie so it could done well with the help of computers. I felt like a little kid in a dream world with all of those creautres. The Minotaur and Centaurs were so cool! As a little kid I would dream of creatures and battles like that. I wonder what C.S. Lewis would have thought if he were alive and in the movie theatre watching his supposed other world on the big screen. This movie did one of the best jobs in portraying the selfless sacrifice of Aslan who was all powerful for a bratty little kid who didn't deserve someone else to pay the price for his misdeeds. It's the same way that you and I don't deserve the sacrifice that Jesus made for our many misdeeds! C.S. Lewis has a great legacy that continues to grow. He has many more books that are worth reading.
One little thing that I caught in the book and movie was when the professor questioned the older Peter and Susan why they didn't believe Lucy's story!
The professor asked questions to establish that Lucy wasn't a Liar & she wasn't a Lunatic. Therefore she must be telling the truth. C.S. Lewis established the same thing about Jesus in his writings.
If Jesus knew He wasn't the Son of God then he was a liar. If Jesus made all these great teachings then he couldn't have been delusional. If he wasn't a Liar and he wasn't a Lunatic then he must have been tellng the truth and Jesus must be Lord!

Favorite Christmas movies

There are a lot of really good Christmas movies. "A Christmas Carol" is a great classic that I always enjoy and "The Santa Clause" & "The Santa Clause 2" should be a contemporary classics if there is such a thing? One of my favorite Christmas movie's is "It's a Wonderful Life"! I think the reason that I like it so much is that it's a very truthful fact for most people who try to live a good life and help others. We really don't know what impact that we have on people unless we were able to see what things would be like without our positive input into people's lives. I don't think that cities would all turn into Pottersville, but I do think that we might see some lives take a left turn or people go through hard times that they should or could have avoided. Jesus said in Mark 9:41 that if we give a cup of water in Jesus name that we won't lose our reward. If I had a wish today I'd wish that we could see what things would not be as good if we weren't involved in people's lives. I think that would encourage us to keep doing good for others! It's a Wonderful Life! If you've never seen the movie you need to get some hot chocolate on a cold night this Christmas season and watch it. Some freshly baked chocolate chip cookies would go with that movie really well also!
