Ministerios de Fe Vida Nueva

New Construction at Children's Home

Changing the Future
         One Child at a Time...

The Honduras Children's Home is called Ministerios de Fe Vida Nueva which means Ministries of Faith (and) New Life. An essential part of its development and growth has been based on the faith that God would provide financial and other means to make His vision for this ministry a reality.

On July 7–14, 2007, a group from Prairie Ridge Church of Ankeny, IA, visited the Children’s Home. The group of 11 painted the first two buildings, dug a trench for a water pipe, and pulled all the weeds from the playground area. While they were there, local construction workers continued building both the dinning facility and the second cottage.

A youth group from First Baptist Church at Savoy stayed at the Children’s Home from July 14–29. The group finished painting the second building, visited the feeding program and two elementary schools. They performed skits at the schools as well as some local churches.

The teams in January 2007 were working on the dining facility, Two construction teams began digging and pouring the footings and building walls up to the level of the doors. The dining facility will have a dual purpose. First, it will open its doors for a feeding program. Secondly, it will be used as a place to have church services not only for the children but for others in the neighborhood.
